The Sault Fastpitch Association is dedicated to providing girls with a positive, inclusive, and empowering fastpitch softball experience. We strive to develop athletes of all skill levels by fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game. Through quality coaching, community involvement, and a safe, supportive environment, we aim to inspire young athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field.

Sault Fastpitch has an exciting three-year vision for the growth and development of our association. Our plans are designed to grow alongside the needs of our players and families and may evolve or accelerate as participation and opportunities increase.

Year 1 — 2027
BUILDING OUR FOUNDATION

Our inaugural season will feature two house league divisions, providing local girls with an opportunity to learn, develop their skills, and enjoy competitive fastpitch in a positive and supportive environment.

We plan to play games locally within our league, while also creating opportunities to compete against teams across the river in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Year 2 — 2028
EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES

We plan to expand our house league program to include girls born in 2020, allowing more young athletes to experience the game.

We also intend to introduce Select Teams in each age division, providing players who are looking for additional competition with opportunities to compete regionally against associations throughout Ontario and the United States.

Year 3 — 2029
GROWING THE GAME

We plan to further expand our house league program to include girls born in 2021.

We also intend to pursue PWSA (Provincial Women's Softball Association) sanctioning, allowing Sault Fastpitch teams to participate in sanctioned provincial tournaments and provide our athletes with additional opportunities to compete at the provincial level.

Beyond Year 3
CREATING PATHWAYS FOR CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT

As Sault Fastpitch continues to grow, we envision establishing a travel program for players who are interested in taking their development and competition beyond the house league level.

Our long-term goal is to create a strong, sustainable fastpitch pathway in Sault Ste. Marie — from learning the fundamentals of the game to competing at higher levels — while continuing to foster confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of fastpitch.
